REV. DR. GORDON BISHOP RETURNS HOME

It's good to be home.

After founding what was then called the Downtown Community Church over 20 years ago, it's wonderful to return as senior minister. In 2005 I officially retired as senior minister and ER chaplain at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Karen and I spent nearly three years enjoying motorhome life traveling some 30+ states. We ended up in Sun City, Texas, which is 25 miles north of Austin. For the next 12 years, we split our time between Texas and California. Several years ago, we made the decision to spend full time in California to be closer to our 10 grandkids.

After the tragic passing of our beloved Reverend John, Connie has bravely held the church together. I am returning from retirement to offer the help that I can. It's great to be back. It will be a joy to work again with old friends and meet new ones. I look forward to seeing you in the near future.
