Participant Fee Disclosure Requirements for Individual Account Plans
Last year the Department of Labor (DOL) issued final regulations requiring broad disclosures of fees, expenses and certain other plan and investment-related information to participants and beneficiaries under individual account plans. The purpose of the new disclosure requirements is to ensure participants and beneficiaries have access to adequate information to enable them to comparison shop among investment options to make informed investment decisions. For a general overview of the key disclosure requirements that become effective in 2012, click here: Participant Fee Disclosure Requirements for Individual Account Plans

Client Survey 2011 - The Results!
| |
Intac Actuarial Services recently contracted The Gregory Group to assist us with a client satisfaction survey in order to identify how we are performing in key areas of our business and pinpoint where we could deliver additional or better value. While plan sponsors were randomly, anonymously and confidentially selected, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to those who did invest their time and effort in providing us with valuable feedback.
After a thorough examination of the results, INTAC has reinforced our course of action and confirmed the strategic direction of our practice. Below are some of the results that we find most interesting:

The client comment section of the survey reflected a strong ongoing relationship and a high level of regard for our support staff that cater to your administrative needs

INTAC exceeded the national average of 90% in overall satisfaction of the 4 "big picture" issues: General 401(k) plan satisfaction; Value of service; Ease of doing business; Overall satisfaction with TPA relationship
Most clients surveyed expressed a high level of referral activity that demonstrates your confidence in our professional ability
The majority surveyed is satisfied with the frequency of our communications and client service outreach. However as a result of this survey, INTAC plans to improve our notifications on time-sensitive issues such as regulatory changes and other pertinent plan reminders.
INTAC firmly believes that an open-line of communication is the key to building a mutually rewarding and successful business partnership. We pledge to strive to meet and exceed your requests, in conjunction with managing your individual levels of expectations accordingly. If at any time you have suggestions or comments regarding our services, please do not wait until the next survey, your comments are appreciated at any time!

Consultant's Corner

So much of what our dedicated INTAC consultants are working on to keep your plans up to speed happen behind the scenes. The INTAC Insider details some of these tasks and other notable highlights that they do. Right now our Gold Star Consultants want you to know:
Note: Due to Hurricane Irene's impact on the tri-state area, an extension date of October 31, 2011 has been granted to any taxpayer located inside the counties declared by the Government as a disaster area, or if the taxpayer's records are kept in a disaster area. You may receive a call from an EFAST representative regarding your registration and/or the electronic signing of your 5500 Forms. INTAC's experienced team members are ready to lend a hand. As part of INTAC's Gold Star Service to our clients, if you have any questions or require assistance with your registration, please contact our office and request to be connected with a member of our EFAST Liaison Team who can personally walk you through the process as needed.
Our experienced plan administrators are hard at work completing the 2010 administration cycle of required year-end reports and tax forms for your plans.
INTAC's experts are carefully reviewing your census data to see if Minimum Distributions are required so we can give you advanced notice prior to year-end.
401(k) Plans - Now is the time to do preliminary non-discrimination (ADP/ACP) testing! By testing the plan in advance of year-end, highly compensated employees might be able to either defer higher amounts or avoid corrective taxable distributions by reducing their contributions now. This service will be available through December 15th only, and will require you to send us year-to-date employee census information. If you would like us to perform complimentary pre-testing for your plan, please contact your INTAC pension consultant.
Safe Harbor 401(k) Plans - Our consultants are in the process of preparing the required notices for these plans. This required, written notice must be provided to your employees at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the plan year. Now is the time to review your safe harbor provision with your pension consultant if you are considering a change.
If you receive a questionnaire and letter from the Employee Plans Compliance Unit of the IRS (EPCU), INTAC will support you in completing the information required. Please contact your INTAC Pension Consultant immediately to ensure accuracy, as failure to respond may potentially lead to an audit. Please note: Plans are selected randomly; however, the IRS has communicated that they are currently focusing on SEP Plans.
Last but not least . . . we are always available to help our plan sponsors, brokers and accountants with any pension related questions you may have. When you call INTAC, you always receive Gold Star Service because you speak with the most knowledgeable staff member related to your plan and/or your question.
