The Metro District offers many opportunities to stay active

Senior centers provide countless hours of fun, support and encouragement to older adults.

  • Senior centers are local, trusted places in the community that connect people to the programs, services and opportunities they need to age well.
  • Senior centers also address an issue that was important even before the pandemic: social isolation.

We invite you join us for all the great programs and events that are scheduled. Upcoming activities are highlighted below in this eNewsletter. For more information, and to register, visit highlandsranch.org/signmeup.

For information about the future Highlands Ranch Senior Center, currently under construction, visit highlandsranch.org/seniorcenter.

Be sure to stop by the Metro District Service Center to purchase your inaugural membership, entitling you to reduced program fees, a $10 discount on the 2024 annual membership, an inaugural pin and more. Inaugural memberships are $20 for Highlands Ranch residents and $25 for non-residents.

Monthly senior center construction update

The Highlands Ranch Senior Center is growing vertically. Most of the vertical structural steel has been placed. Half of the floor has been poured with the remainder being poured this week. Roof trusses are scheduled to be set late in October.

Site work continues with final connections of the storm sewer system and grading of the storm water quality pond. Retaining walls are being finished as well. The west access to the site is under construction and should be completed in early October.

Staff continues to meet weekly to review progress and project submittals, to evaluate opportunities for value engineering, and to address issues that arise.
