Voting Rights
October is shaping up to be a great one if you are interested in learning more about the new Automatic Voter Registration Law and the Election Integrity Commission. Our League will hold a presentation on both from 7:00-8:30 pm on Tuesday, October 24, in the Oak Park Township Sr. Room, 130 S. Oak Park Ave. A representative from the Ill. State Board of Elections and from the Cook County Clerk's Office will be there to better inform us about these topics.  We will be taping the presentation.   Can't make that date? LWV LaGrange will also be having a presentation on these topics on Monday, October 16. Read more about their program here.  And finally, LWV IL will sponsor two presentations on Thursday, October 26, o ne in the daytime in Chicago and one in the evening in Highland Park. Read more about those programs here.  There is no excuse not to be informed on this subject!
With Sadness
It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of longtime member Barbara Furlong. Barbara received the Hazel Hanson award in 2001 in addition to being an active community member. You can read more about her many contributions to our community  here.  Our condolences go out to her family.
