BFF Back to School Bash Fundraiser is 2 Weeks Away!

Don’t miss out on a fun night out with dinner, cash bar and live music overlooking the sunset on the Hudson riverfront! We’re hosting our annual fundraiser to benefit the PTSA Bulldog Family Fund at Tarrytown’s newest waterfront destination - The Sailhouse! Reconnect with old friends and make new connections while helping the BFF provide financial support and resources to families in our school district who are income eligible for free or reduced lunch (FRL), or in temporary financial need.

Did you know that membership dues and cash donations help us raise nearly $40,000 towards providing programs, events and infrastructure in our schools? We contributed to the build of the new Dows Lane playground, and we’re planning to bring back Family Bingo & Movie Nights, the Science Fair, the Talent Show, and Spelling Bee, while also funding new grants for clubs, programs and events for our students.

SCAFLD Meet & Greet with Pupil Personnel Services

The PTSA Supporting Children and Families with Learning Differences (SCAFLD) Committee invites parents and guardians of students with learning and development differences to its annual meet and greet with the District’s Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) team. Every school year, the PTSA holds four general membership meetings to share updates and conduct voting on a variety of topics. Meet Your School’s PAC Representatives

The Parent Advisory Council or PAC is a forum for parents to anonymously raise questions/concerns or share suggestions with school administrators about topics that impact the District, the school, the grade or a class. Each school (Dows Lane, Main Street School, Irvington Middle School and Irvington High School) has its own PAC which is composed of that school’s principal and assistant principal, and the PTSA Vice Presidents (VP) and Grade Parents.

PAC questions can be submitted through a Google Form and parents can opt to remain anonymous. Visit www.irvingtonnyptsa.org/pac to meet your school’s PTSA PAC representatives, check PAC meeting dates, read PAC minutes, and the submit a question or comment to your school’s PAC.

New Families Welcome Breakfasts

During the first few weeks of school, the PTSA New Families Welcome Committee organized breakfasts at Dows Lane, Main Street School and Irvington Middle School to give new families and new students a chance to meet their peers and school administrators. Thank you Pamela Grunstein, Mara Gredick and Sonal Vasudev for coordinating these special events to help new families get acquainted with our school community!

PTSA Hospitality at IMS and IHS Open Houses

PTSA volunteers organized sweet and savory snacks for parents running through their student's schedule during the IMS and IHS Open Houses.

Special thanks to Mara Gredick and Joanna Anemadouras (IMS Open House Snacks), Niki Grados and Tricia Kim (IHS Open House) and to all the community members who baked/bought snacks to donate.
