MORE INFO REGARDING LEAP

Congratulations to Doug Riccio, proud owner of Dr. Pilates, for officially opening his doors on Friday, Oct. 20! Doug is a graduate of the La Mesa Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program (LEAP), a City program established to support entrepreneurs in establishing brick-and-mortar enterprises. Doug thanks our LEAP partners, the East County EDC and the San Diego & Imperial Small Business Development Center (SBDC), for guiding him in formulating a clear and manageable business strategy. His LEAP marketing advisor offered insights into effective social media practices, and for teaching him how to use business management programs. These resources were instrumental in helping Doug efficiently prioritize his tasks, especially during the time-sensitive studio opening phase. Join us in congratulating Doug!

Community Development Department Open House

We hosted a Community Development Department Open House, offering our community the chance to meet the department's new leadership, Director of Community Development, Lynnette Santos, and our new Building Official, Robert Fisher. The event served as an excellent platform for residents and the community to gain insights into our ongoing efforts to promote the growth and well-being of our neighborhoods.

One of our key initiatives is the streamlined online permitting process, which offers greater convenience for our community. Our Community Development team was available to address any inquiries regarding our online portal, Maintstar, and our newly introduced feature, online instant residential solar permit applications. These efforts underscore the City’s dedication to improving the permitting system and providing the highest level of service to our community.
