At the September 8 meeting, NTMCA recognized President Traci Henderson for her leadership and commitment to our chapter. Traci led NTMCA through a full year of COVID-19 challenges with dedication and grace. In a year of continued uncertainty, Traci was a steadfast leader, embodied kindness to others, and encouraged the membership to do the same with her “Kindness Korner” and “Happy Tuesday” emails. Thank you, Traci! |

City Secretary April Hill and the City of Roanoke did a fabulous job hosting our September meeting crowd (51!) at the Roanoke Library. Roanoke City Manager Scott Campbell welcomed the group and encouraged us to check out Roanoke’s unique dining scene and come back when the Peabody Hotel opens to see the daily duck procession through the lobby.
TABC’s Tana Travis updated the group on the September 1 changes to alcohol permits and fielded our many questions. Here’s a link to her helpful presentation. There’s also some great information for local governments on the TABC website along with a list of FAQ’s too!
It was great to see everyone and especially nice to see some new faces too, which is awesome!

TMCA Trustee and North Richland Hills City Secretary Alicia Richardson will give a presentation about the Municipal Clerk's Office Achievement of Excellence Award. This award is designed to recognize excellence in the effective and efficient management of resources in a municipal clerk’s office.

The NTMCA Holiday Party will be held on Thursday, December 9 at 11 a.m. at the beautiful Chandor Gardens in Weatherford. This year’s charity is Parker County Center of Hope. If you would like to participate, please bring non-perishable foods to help stock their pantry. Make plans to join us for an afternoon filled with fun, food, and celebration!

Finally, I’m honored and excited to serve as your NTMCA President this year. Through my committee and board service, I’ve enjoyed the educational, networking, and fellowship opportunities this association has to offer. I love meeting my peers in other cities and visiting different town squares and city halls throughout the metroplex. This is a great group, and I look forward to working with you in the coming year!

The August membership survey results showed that members want more options to participate in chapter meetings. The Board is excited to offer a combination of in-person luncheons and virtual meetings to accommodate busy schedules in 2021-22.
