October 2020 Newsletter
What a whirlwind of a month October was for all of us at Maywood Fine Arts! With COVID-19 restrictions cramping our normal style we were able to get innovative and creative making sure our students and community still have the Arts in their Hearts.
Thank you for Walking with Us!
We are so thankful for everyone that "Stepped into Action" with us on October 10th. Our Walk for Equity and Opportunity in the Arts was a huge success, with students, families, and supporters showing up for the cause and having their voices heard. It is community like this that can truly make a difference and make real change happen.
Two Thumbs Up! 4-Star Review
Lights! Camera! Action! Maywood Fine Arts Goes to the Movies! We filmed all dancers, tumblers, musicians, and artists to star in our movie which we showed at the Chicago Drive-In Movie Theatre on Monday, October 12th.  We are so proud of all the students and thankful for the sponsors that helped make this happen. The movie got rave reviews online and in The Village Free Press!
We know, you have probably already voted by now, but check out our VOTE! 2020 video remix. This was filmed at multiple locations around Maywood and was so much fun to make! The students who filmed this aren't old enough to vote yet but that hasn't stopped them from forming their own opinions about changes they would like to see. Most of all they know the key is to VOTE!
Haunted Halloween Drive-Thru
On Halloween, Maywood Fine Arts put on a show like no-one else can with a Haunted Halloween Drive-Thru. This free event was open to our families and the community from 3-5pm on October 31st. Complete with showmanship, choreographed dances, Halloween treats and a few tricks. Almost 100 cars drove up and had a ghoulishly good time.
