Free Healthy Cooking Demo
Weight Watchers is offering a free webinar called "Nutritious Food Design" on Oct. 12 at noon. Learn
more and register today and look for other options on the Wellness Website.
This month you are encouraged to remember The Daily Four: Brush Floss Rinse Chew We know the first three, but chew? Did you know that chewing sugar-free gum after meals and snacks helps protect teeth and complements a healthy oral care routine.
Chewing stimulates the salivary glands to increase their flow rate by up to 10 times during the first few minutes of chewing, and the flavors in sugar-free gum also increase the quantity of saliva in the mouth. This helps clean out food particles and neutralizes biofilm acids on the teeth.
Need A Nutrition Make-Over?
Try a new MOOC from CRWU Nutrition Faculty member Mary Beth Kavanagh. This ten session, 5 week program will give you the tools and skills to make a personalized diet plan. You'll then be asked to put the plan into action.
Those who complete the coursework AND implement the program will be eligible for the 2016 Nutrition and Weight Management Program Incentive.
To obtain a Wellness Program Incentive (1 for $100 or 2 for $200), you must complete an attestation form by Nov. 30th.
The attestation form can be found in HCM.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women offers a series of classes this week on a wide variety of topics from crafty to informative. Check out their
