The New US Sunscreens Regulations
 
Presenter: David C. Steinberg, President, Steinberg and Associates
 
David Steinberg founded the Masters program in Cosmetic Sciences at Fairleigh Dickinson University and taught the Chemistry of Skin Care and the Chemistry of Hair Care Ingredients from 1982-2000. He teaches continuing education courses for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in Cosmetic Raw Materials, Regulations and Preservatives for Cosmetics.
 
He has previously directed courses and lectures at the Center for Professional Advancement in Cosmetic Ingredients, Sunscreens, Skin Product Development, Labeling of OTC Drugs, and Cosmetic Regulations, and the BioScience Collaborative. He currently lectures at The Center for Professional Innovation & Education.
 
He is a member of the American Chemical Society, Institute of Food Technologists, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrance Association, Canadian Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrance Association; ICMAD- Board of Directors; Society of Cosmetic Scientists, Society of Cosmetic Chemists. He has served as Chapter Chair, National Treasurer and National President of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. He also has served as Honorary Auditor and member of the Presidium of the International Federation of Cosmetic Chemists.
 
His honors include the Society of Cosmetic Chemist Merit Award, Fellow Membership, Eminent Visiting Scholar Virginia State University, and Paper of the year Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists, IFSCC Sponsored Speaker.
 
Since 1995 David has written a bimonthly column for Cosmetic & Toiletries magazine on cosmetic regulations. In 2006 David was the founder of the Cosmetic Preservative Council. (Executive Director)
 
He holds a BS in Chemistry from Drexel University, and an MBA in Management Pace University.

The Basic&Applied Dermatology Forum, founded in 1995, is an ongoing lunch/learn program with speakers from academic and commercial labs, discussing new approaches, regulatory issues, formulations, etc.
 
With vision from Otto Mills, PhD, FCP, Adjunct Professor, Department of Dermatology, UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the series has provided a forum for presenting ideas, stimulating discussion, networking across multiple dermatology-related fields.
