A Campus for the Creative Spirit
Hello from LOLA Arts!
Wow! What a remarkable year for fall leaves! So vibrant. I’ve loved driving on canopy-covered roads, sunshine making the bright yellow ochre leaves of the birch trees sparkle with the wind. The deep red sugar maples, dot the landscape and contrast with the hunter-green pines (Can you tell I’ve been doing some Plein air landscape painting recently?) I spent this past weekend with as much sunshine on my face and appreciating the colors as much as I could, as the cold nights coming will surely bring peak autumn to a close in the next day or two. As always, this mid-autumn season passes much too quickly.

But the end of fall approaches, and with it, Halloween to look forward to. We have so many fun activities going on during Zombie Weekend; a little bit of something for everyone. A free Wine & Magic Night, After School Arts and Crafts, and Zombie Crawl, a 9-stop pub crawl dressed as zombies. We’ve also added Zombie Ball, a dance with a DJ, and a costume contest at Gateway Lodge. (Thanks especially to Aron Houdini and the rest of the Zombie Crawl Committee for all their hard work!) Information is below.

We are also looking to fill our winter class schedule, so if you have suggestions (like soap making! Or wood carving!) or know of a local artist who can teach, send them our way.

Thank you to everyone who made Art Harvest a hit!

What a blast Art Harvest was this year. While the rain (thankfully) held off, it was really one of the first cool days of autumn. The artworks from vendors were beautiful, the garden bountiful, the dance emotional, the music fun, the quilt show stunning, and the pumpkin painting messy. What a great day had by all.

A Year in Review
It’s been officially a year since I started at LOLA Arts, and what a fun year it has been. Linked below is a video montage of all the great events and classes I’ve had the fun of capturing, starting with last year’s Zombie Crawl. Enjoy!
