Welcome to this week in the Ocotillo District. Councilmember Aldama vacated his seat at the close of business this past Monday, April 1. The City Council will now begin the process of appointing a new member to represent the Ocotillo District for the remainder of former Councilmember Aldama's term, which expires December 2026.

NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four

The Final Four heads to Glendale!


You may notice more traffic and larger crowds this weekend, as the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four takes over State Farm Stadium this Saturday and Monday. Looking for a fun and FREE event to enjoy with your family and friends? Check out R&B musicians jamming at Glendale’s LiVE! concert series. You can listen to two musical acts perform, play lawn games, indulge on treats at food trucks (and drinks in a bar area for those 21 and older) and feast your eyes on a live art installation. The gates open at 4 p.m. Parking is available for FREE on surrounding streets and in the Bank of America parking garage.

ANIMAL PLANTERS

Velma Teague Library - VTL Teen Zone

April 1 - April 30


For the month of April, we will be celebrating Earth Day by reusing plastic fruit cups and turning them into flower planters. Using the supplies provided, create an animal theme planter. Once you’re done decorating, add soil and seeds into your animal planter. All materials will be provided. For ages 12-18.


All events at the Glendale Public Library are public, and participants may be photographed by the media and/or City staff for future print and/or online publication.

Downtown Campus Revitalization Update

Code Compliance

The objective for the volunteer is to work together with the city, by assisting our code compliance efforts and better address the needs of Glendale residents. Come and help preserve and improve residential neighborhoods. Lets continue to make Glendale a better place to live, work and play.

Community Engagement

The Community Engagement Division is seeking teams of volunteers to participate in a citywide street clean-up. Teams will be assigned a one-mile stretch of road to pick up trash and debris. (Cleaning tools provided)


Due to volunteers working close to the street, we ask that volunteers be at least 12 years old.

  • Streets west of 51st Avenue to 55th Avenue, between Missouri Avenue and Bethany Home Road – Slurry Seal application to begin April 27.
  • Streets between Bethany Home Road and Maryland Avenue, between 51st Avenue and 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to take place in early May.
