National Safety Stand-Down Week

Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 395 of the 1069 construction fatalities recorded in 2022 (BLS data). Those deaths were preventable. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries.

Stop Construction Falls

The Falls Campaign began in 2012 as a way to raise awareness of the fact that falls are the top cause of construction fatalities and account for one-third of on-the-job injury deaths in the industry, with a disproportionate number of those occurring in the residential sector. Each year in the U.S. construction industry, over 10,000 workers are seriously injured by falls and one worker dies every day from a fall to a lower level.

The goal of the Falls Campaign is to prevent fatal falls from roofs, ladders, and scaffolds by encouraging residential construction contractors to:

  • PLAN ahead to get the job done safely.
  • PROVIDE the right equipment.
  • TRAIN everyone to use the equipment safely.
If you hear of a project you would like to see in our Plan Room, please let us know. We will make every effort to get it. And as always, if you need prints or you are interested in getting access to our online plan room, send us a message.
