August 4, 2024, is the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Ohio Valley Builders Exchange, Inc. (1959), later renamed Ohio Valley Construction Employers Council, Inc. (OVCEC) in 1973.

We will be celebrating 65 all month long, with the largest in-person event being the OVCEC Steak Fry! We hope that you can join us on August 22 at the Levenson Shelter at Oglebay Park!

Major Improvements Underway at Capitol Theatre in Wheeling

Shows at the Capitol Theatre in Wheeling are taking somewhat of an intermission for the summer while long-awaited upgrades are taking place inside the historic entertainment venue. Over the past few weeks, crews have begun work to replace the old fly system – or theatrical rigging system – from which lights, backdrops, and other staging components of shows are suspended.

Local subcontractors, Erb Electric and Quality Steel Erecting are working with Pittsburgh Stage Inc. of Sewickley, Pennsylvania to complete the work.

Guntry Progress Continues

JD&E Construction Services continues to make excellent headway on the new Guntry facility at The Highlands, which is set to open by October 1 and will include shooting lanes, an interactive simulator, and archery.

$87.5 Million will be used to replace West Virginia Bridge over the Ohio River

A West Virginia bridge that has been closed since December will be getting $87.5 million in funds to get it replaced.



U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee and member of the Appropriations Committee, announced $87.5 million to replace the Market Street Bridge over the Ohio River in Brooke County.
