Finding Funding Opportunities in Pivot-RP
OSP subscribes to Pivot-RP for finding funding opportunities. Researchers in virtually all fields - including non-sciences use Pivot-RP to find their share of funding opportunities. Pivot-RP is available to all UNLV faculty, staff, and students FREE of charge (OSP sponsors the yearly subscription cost). Pivot also includes features to search for potential collaborators, discover conference calls for papers and find awarded grants. As of today, there is about $131 billion of funding available!
It is recommended to create a profile. You can do this at https://pivot.proquest.com. Login with your UNLV ACE credentials or your UNLV email. Once you have created a profile, edit your profile either from the My Profile & Groups section on the homepage or the dropdown next to your name. Based on your profile, Pivot will automatically and continuously search for funding matches specific for you. You should add expertise, keywords and an ORCiD iD. Those three items will help the algorithm to pull funding matches as closely linked to your research as possible. You can also go into your ORCiD iD account and set a permission flag to automatically update your Pivot profile.
You can create an advanced search based on keywords and save that search. When you name the search, you can request to get a weekly email update (on Sundays) when any new funding opportunities are added that match these keywords.
OSP has created a short video tutorial (~12 minutes - OSP Video Tutorial: How to Find Funding with Pivot-RP) that provides a broad overview of Pivot-RP and its features. Available now in WebCampus and open for self-enrollment by anyone at UNLV https://unlv.instructure.com/enroll/48JTFC.
