This Sunday we invite you to join members of the Christian Formation committee for a relaxed, informal time to play board games together. Yes, that's right. We're just going to play games. Bring your favorite one, or play ours! (No Zoom this week!)

OLD SOUTH @ THE MOVIES - Sunday, May 5

Join Old South member Tish Dragonette for a discussion about Boston based movies The Holdover and American Fiction. We'll look at the beauty of the flawed main characters and our own beautiful flawed Boston as well. (Both movies are available for streaming online)

GREEN TIP: Ending Plastic Pollution

For several years, ending plastic pollution has been a major focus of EarthDay.org’s efforts. Although EarthDay.org has advocated for the elimination of plastic, especially single-use plastic, for years, for Earth Day 2024, a new 60×40 plastic reducti0n campaign is setting a clear target for action. Perhaps modeled after the successful international adoption of the 30×30 conservation goal, EarthDay’s new campaign is demanding a 60% reduction in the production of plastics by 2040, with the ultimate goal of achieving a post-plastic future.

The Christian Service and Outreach Committee is assembling a team of volunteers to help prepare lunches in the Old South Church kitchen and serve them to the common cathedral homeless congregation on the Boston Common. The prep work for making 120+ sandwich lunches will begin at 8:30am, transported to the Boston Common by 12:00 noon, and served to guests at 12:30pm. The outdoor Common Cathedral service begins at 1:00pm and lasts until around 2:30pm. See commoncathedral.org for more about this organization’s important work. Common Cathedral is one of Old South’s annual grantees.

Join us in Eastertide for a series focused on folks who did just that: reached out their hands in faith to build something creative, diverse, and new together. We’ll learn from Thomas, Phoebe, Lydia and other people and teams who reached out - to God, to others, and to the world - so that all might encounter the living God who is love. MASKED SECTIONS OF THE SANCTUARY AND CHAPEL

Did you know that we have masked sections in the Sanctuary and Chapel?

We do! It's in the left transept (under the balcony) of the Sanctuary. In the Gordon Chapel, the Columbarium is the designated section. In both sections, masks are required. If you still aren't sure how to get to either section, ask an usher!

Our Sanctuary in this City is open to visitors for prayer and reflection.

Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.;
