Grandparents As Parents - GAP
|
Last month, the Alliance for Children's Rights & the California Alliance of Caregivers hosted the 2024 Caregiver Day at the Capitol in Sacramento. This annual event was held for caregivers to learn more about the policies that impact child welfare and to speak with decision-makers at the Capitol regarding relevant policy issues that affect youth in foster care. This year’s Caregiver Day at the Capitol was another incredible day of networking and advocacy with 70+ caregivers, providers, and advocates from across the state. ONEgeneration's Grandparents As Parents - GAP Program Director Jennifer Odum and Court Navigator Jaime Rodriguez attended 7 advocacy visits to share the needs of our GAP caregivers and advocate for laws and services that affect them.

Intergenerational Daycare
|
|
During the month of March children and their neighbors celebrated National Dentist day with a special visit from Dr. To. During the visit children and adults had the opportunity to learn the proper form for brushing teeth and had fun brushing the puppets teeth. They also bonded with one another as they spent some time crafting for St. Patrick’s Day. Together they decorated clover leaves using paint sticks and explored St. Patrick’s Day sensory trays that exposed them to different images that represent the celebration.

An ITIN is an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
It’s for anyone needing to file taxes and claim tax benefits that doesn’t qualify for a social security number. ITINS are issued regardless of immigration status to help individuals comply with U.S. tax laws.
Although ITINS are for tax purposes only, they can help undocumented individuals establish a financial history, obtain a driver’s license, open bank accounts, apply for loans, and secure financial aid for college. By filing taxes, individuals can often receive refunds for overpayment of taxes and in California, ITIN holders are eligible for the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) and the Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC).
ITINS ARE FREE and the IRS will NOT share your information with Immigration Authorities
Did you know that ONEgeneration can help those who have questions about who qualifies for ITIN, how to obtain an ITIN, and where to go to file for an ITIN? For information in Spanish, please click here or call (818) 350.3105. For information in English please click here or call (818) 738.9927.

EACH PERSON IS VALUABLE TO ME
a poem by Norman Molesko
I ask myself the question,
what is the value of each person?
Here is my answer to all.
I respect each person.
I learn from each.
Each one is valuable to me.
When one behaves
in a way different from me,
that person does me a favor.
That behavior shows me
what I want to be,
what I don’t want to be.
I respect each person.
I learn from each.
Each person is valuable to me.
