2024-2025 Calendar

We are happy to announce a few updates on teaching positions and course offerings for the 2024-2025 academic year!

Teaching Positions

Mrs. Katherine Hagel will be moving to 1/2 Day Kindergarten (taking Mrs. Pike's spot)

Miss Erin Martin will move to 1st grade (taking Mrs. McClure's spot)

Mrs. Hannah Miller has accepted the 4th grade position (filling Miss Martin's spot).

·      Mrs. Miller has been serving as the K-3 Instructional Assistant at OLMC since November, and has prior experience teaching both 3rd and 4th grade in Catholic Schools.

Mrs. Jane Ann Gaskill will continue teaching Library to grades K-5, while also integrating essential technology skills into the program as the Librarian/Media Specialist.

New Course Offerings

After much prayer, discernment, and evaluation of the overall needs of our school community, we are making a change to the current Computer class. We will no longer be hosting Computers as a Specials class but, instead, will be moving to a new format involving two different courses.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - Mrs. Karen Webb will join our faculty teaching Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to grades K-4 once a week.

·      Mrs. Webb has been teaching Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) here at OLMC as a volunteer the past few years. So, we are excited to welcome her as we formally integrate this beautiful program into our religion curriculum. She is a certified CGS catechist and trainer.

Catholic Leadership Development (CaLD – pronounced “Called”) – Mrs. Meghan Durkee will teach this new project-based course to our 5-8th grade students. The course will incorporate the essential technology standards and projects with a focus on character development, leadership, executive functioning, teamwork, discipleship opportunities and virtue building. In addition, Mrs. Durkee will take on responsibility for curriculum, professional development, and school communication.

·      Mrs. Durkee is an experienced educator in project-based learning and holds Masters Degrees in both Secondary Education and Educational Leadership.

Beautiful Morning Sunrise Songs by Tim Janis

Attention OLMC MOMS! We have a very special invitation for you. This summer, we will offer a 6 week bible study called Living in the Father’s Love by Walking With Purpose. We invite ALL of you to join us, regardless of your age, kids’ ages, stage of faith life, or comfort level with bible studies. This is not like any bible study you’ve done, we promise. And if you’ve never done one, great! This is for you too! Join us to engage in real, authentic conversations and connections with God and each other. We see you out there hustling with your children, homes, jobs, spouses, and endless commitments, and all that hard work is so admirable. But how often do we take time to fill up our own cups and step away from the chaos of family life to connect with other women in meaningful ways? Please join us, you won’t regret it! Study runs weekly on Thursday evenings from June 13-July 25 at 7pm in the St. Joseph Room.

Friday Bakers are in Need! Please see the link below if you are interested in spoiling our staff with yummy Friday treats.

School Bakers

RaiseRight (formerly SCRIP) is our school's fundraising tool to better our school and fund initiatives that help our teachers. You can learn more on our website at https://school.olmc1.org/scrip. With RaiseRight, you purchase gift cards through the RaiseRight mobile app; you can use the gift cards for everyday purchases, as gifts for teachers, or for any other need.

Instead of an additional $100 on our school book bill, we ask each parent to generate $100 worth of rebates from RaiseRight. It's an easy way to help our school through purchases you already make.

Getting Started

The best way to use RaiseRight is through the mobile app. You can download it here [Apple | Android]. When you register, please use OLMC's enrollment code: 3A682L972556.

eCard or Physical Card

Whether you purchase an eGift (online) card or a physical card, you can use the mobile app for your purchase.

  • E-Cards are automatic and appear immediately within the mobile app
  • Most physical cards can be mailed directly to your home
  • If you choose to pay by check, your gift cards will be purchased alongside other OLMC families. These purchases happen on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, and the physical gift cards will be available in the school office by the following Thursday.

*If you prefer to not use RaiseRight, please send a check (only one per family) to OLMC with reference 'RaiseRight Donation' for $100 by the end of the school year.

Encounter School of Ministry Transformation Night | May 11, 7pm

Our Lady of Mt Carmel Parish Life Center | Carmel, IN

"A Life of Missional Prayer" with Ian Wray

Is it possible to truly pray without ceasing while I’m at work, at a coffee shop, out having dinner with my friends, or even at home with my kids? We will explore how prayer can get you into conversations that your personality perhaps cannot. We’ll dive into Scripture, pull from real-life experience, and ultimately walk away with practical tools and rhythms that we can implement in our lives to live a life of prayer everywhere we go.

Ian Wray was born and raised in Indiana where he graduated from Westfield high school and Anderson University. He had the privilege of traveling around the world as a missionary following his undergrad degree. Ian was on staff at Indy Vineyard Church for four years where he met his now wife of 2 years, Rachael. They currently reside in Nashville, TN where he serves as a pastor at The Belonging Co after receiving his Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern University.

7:00 - Honoring God with our praise
