Principal's Letter

Hello OLG Community,

It is so nice to be back with all of you, after being away from school. I am still decompressing from my immersive trip to Jamaica and look forward to sharing it with you soon.  I was excited to have made it back in time for last night’s awesome concert, and today’s wonderful Career Day! Thank you to the many hands who made this week the beautiful week that it was, full of life, talent and gifts to share. Especially thank you to Ms. Sager, Miss McKamey and our musicians last night, and Ms. Kim and Sheila Hui (alumni parent) for all the work building Career Day into all that it was. For those who came to share your careers with us, thank you very much for inspiring the kids! We had 27 presenters. Wow! We are already excited for next year!

There are many things happening tomorrow, this weekend and in the days ahead. We hope that you partake in as many of them as possible. We are so fortunate to have such a fruitful OLG community life, full of unique opportunities and ways to connect and grow in community and faith life. Parish or school, knowing that we are all one community make so many opportunities a gift. I look forward to seeing you at them when you can partake!

Battle of the Books

The 2024 Battle of the Books final competition was held Friday May 11th at Assumption Saint Bridget School. A special congratulations to our 5th grade team for winning 2nd place!  This year, 478 students enrolled in the program out of which 10 intermediate level teams and 9 middle school teams from across the archdiocese participated in the final event. Both our Middle School and Intermediate level teams did an amazing job representing our school. I am so proud of all the reading they did for this event!

Initial Meeting with Fr. Phuong & Fr. Tim

Michelle, our Administrator, and Helen, our Pastoral Associate, and Jen, Business Manager at Holy Rosary met with Fr. Phuong and Fr. Tim this week to consider housing options. It was a wonderful meeting and both priests are very excited to come to our parishes. They have heard very good things about both communities and are looking forward to meeting us. We are truly blessed to have them as our new leaders. Please keep them in prayer as they say goodbye to communities where they have served for many years, and as they pack up to move to West Seattle.
