Multifamily Energy Efficiency Capital Upgrades

The Multifamily Energy Efficiency Capital Upgrades Project is transitioning from planning and outreach to the implementation and upgrade phase. We're thrilled to announce that 53 Over-the-Rhine Community Housing households will be part of this impactful study. The project will electrify 17 homes and weatherize 35, bringing us closer to our goal of reducing energy burdens for Cincinnati residents by 10%. Stay tuned for updates as we work towards a greener, more energy-efficient Cincinnati!

Reminder: IRA Tax Credits for Nonprofits

The IRS is recommending that tax exempt organizations who are looking for tax credits around clean energy, clean vehicles, charging equipment, etc. do their pre-filing registration about 120 days before the filing is required. The filing is due November 15, so this is a reminder to do your pre-filing registration now!

Pre-filing registration is the first step, then you can file the appropriate tax forms to receive the credit. Don't miss your chance!

GCP Partner Spotlight: Mill Creek Alliance

OES has selected GCP Partner, Mill Creek Alliance to spotlight for their remarkable endeavors in greenspace restoration and access.

Mill Creek Alliance (MCA) is a non-profit organization committed to restoring the Mill Creek Watershed into a thriving and accessible resource for everyone. MCA's efforts and initiatives span many GCP focus areas including climate adaptation and resilience, mobility, and natural environment.

The organization is working to create equitable access to greenspaces in Beekman Corridor and South Cumminsville by connecting the Mill Creek Greenway Trail to the Ohio River as a completion of the CROWN network. In the natural environment arena, MCA has taken magnificent strides in water quality improvement and will be completing an effort to foster natural wildlife repopulation by removing sewer crossings and low head dam barriers from the main stem of the creek in summer of 2025.

MCA is also a champion in youth engagement and operates several programs that encourage young people to get hands on with nature through water sampling, fishing, species identification and much more.

To learn more about MCA, visit their website here!
