October Update -

  • PLACEMAKING: Node Team Leaders met in October to discuss how to pursue goals established in our community meetings earlier this year. Wayfinding signage is a top priority of many of the node teams and as such, is a primary topic. The Placemaking team recognized an opportunity to collaborate with the City of Hayward in exploring signage. as the City will be engaging extensive construction to Main Street in 2020. If you are interested in volunteering with Placemaking activities email: placemaking.thrivinginsawyer@gmail.com

  • Entrepreneur Training Program: This eight-week business plan series will conclude in November. Nikki Olson, Business Consultant with SBDC-Wisconsin, our partner in this endeavor, gave us an update on the current session. The training program includes a smaller group of four participants. Nikki reports the small class size has actually afforded the participants expanded interaction with both presenters and each other. The participants have found they are able to engage fellow participants with ideas and feedback in a way that is not possible with larger classes. Their business planning has moved forward and each is excited about the progress they are achieving. Nikki foresees another program being made available beginning January of 2020. If you have interest in participating, please contact us at info@sclcoedc.com
