OCA August Newsletter 2024
The election this November couldn’t be clearer. Americans will be choosing socialism or a free constitutional republic. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14 In the past five weeks, President Trump was nearly assassinated in Butler, PA., the Democrats forced Joe Biden out of the race, and without a Primary Election, drafted Kamala Harris as their nominee. We truly are in unprecedented times. There has never been a time like this in American history. That’s why people of faith need to hold fast to that which remains and stand steady in these days of trial and tempest.
The Ohio Christian Alliance has decided to carry on in the face of the changing culture. Members of our board and our advisory council have urged us to stay the course, that there is a need for the Ohio Christian Alliance to remain at the seats of government, advocating for religious freedom and First Amendment rights. We have examples in Scripture that when the culture has gone pagan, God has had his man or woman at the seats of government: Joseph at the right hand of Pharoah, Daniel and his three companions in the king’s court and on his advisory council, Mordecai at the king’s gate, Esther in the palace of the king, Nehemiah, cupbearer to the king, Ezra, and Paul appealing to governmental authorities, including to Rome and to Caesar. We will stay on the watch at the seats of government, advocating for religious freedom and ensuring that your voice is heard. This election is critical to the future of our nation. Stand with us in prayer and VOTE!
Issue 1 is officially on the ballot. The summary language was adopted on Friday, August 16th by the Ohio Ballot Board. The Ohio Christian Alliance is urging a NO vote on Issue 1, the proposed constitutional amendment on the redistricting process in the State of Ohio.
Radical leftists have drafted this amendment and are hoping that they can fool Ohioans with their expensive ad campaign, funded once again by outside foreign interests. If Issue 1 is passed, the redrawing of district lines will be left up to retired liberal judges and academics. Anyone with prior political service on any level would be prohibited from participating in the process. The proposal is long and complicated. It will not appear on your ballot, but we will make it available on our website so you can read the convoluted proposal yourself. This proposal says that it seeks to stop gerrymandering, but it is gerrymandering on steroids. The radical left, backed by Barack Obama and Eric Holder, have cooked this one up for Ohio. We must defeat Issue 1. The Vote NO on Issue 1 campaign committee will be at the OCA Freedom Banquet in Columbus on September 26th with yard signs, literature, and other helpful materials. OCA will be urging a NO vote on Issue 1 in the Presidential Election Voter Guide. Keep checking the OCA website for more information. Hope to see you in September at the Freedom Banquet.
