Family Promise

May 12-19

If you have never experienced the gift of serving with Family Promise, now is your chance! By signing up you will be serving our neighbors who are working hard to get back to a place of financial stability and independence. Each of the volunteer opportunities are simple, but vitally important!

  • Set-up: you and several other volunteers transform the rooms off of the Fellowship Hall into bedrooms by inflating air mattresses, putting sheets and blankets on the beds, and rearranging the Fellowship Hall into a living room. This behind-the-scenes job enables our guests to enter a welcoming space that they will call home for the week.
  • Dinner: you provide a meal for the families (up to 15 people, but usually less). As you serve the meal, you have the opportunity to get to know our guests and enjoy the smiles and laughter of their children!
  • Overnight Host: you spend the night on one of our comfy air mattresses. This night away from your own bed enables our guests to have a warm, safe place to sleep and reminds them that people care! The families staying with us go to bed early, so you don't have to worry about not getting enough sleep.
  • Clean-up: you and other volunteers deflate the air mattresses, gather dirty sheets and towels, and reset the Fellowship Hall. This behind-the-scenes job is the final step in providing a week of shelter and hospitality for our neighbors in need.

If you are interested in helping with the wonderful ministry but have other questions, contact Jason Freeman (jasonefreeman@hotmail.com) who serves as our Family Promise coordinator.
