The Howe's Spring Soirée Was a Joyous Occasion!

Thank you to all who attended, made a gift, or purchased raffle tickets for the Spring Soirée! Your presence and contributions brought life and energy to this signature fundraising event. Individual and business support are the sole source of funding for the Library's collections and programs, and we're delighted to announce that we received over $17,000 in Howe Annual Fund gifts for core library services. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for being a part of the Howe Library community.

Tween Comic Camp

Join Howe Library and comic book author Marek Bennett for Tween Comic Camp! Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Please note this program is for ages 9-12 only.

This camp meets in the library’s Mayer Room and will run:

  • 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5 with in-person teaching by Marek. Please bring a lunch.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday, August 6 and 7, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with a librarian-supervised space to work on comics and guided Zoom support from Marek.
  • 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8 with in-person teaching by Marek. Please bring a lunch.

The library will supply snacks all four days. Plan on sending a lunch for your child on Monday and Thursday. A water bottle is also recommended.

Adults will be invited to a reception to see your young author's work from 2:00-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 8. Copies will also be cataloged in the library's collection. This camp is limited to 20 participants; however, we will consider additional workshops in the future based on the popularity of the program.

The youth librarian will reach out in July with more information about the camp. In the meantime, please email childrens.services@thehowe.org with any additional questions. More information on Marek Bennett can be found at https://marekbennett.com/.
