Foods for the Fourth

july-fourth-sparkler.jpg

It's one of the year's biggest cooking holidays as this week we celebrate our freedom from everything but dirty dishes. If you're scrambling for ideas, we're including a few of our favorite recipes featuring seasonal items.

Appetizers & Salads

Entrees & Grill

Dessert

Beverage

  • Sangria (Red and White)
  • Dark and Stormy: Mix 1/3 Spiced Rum to 2/3 SoCo Ginger Beer. Pour over ice and give a squirt of lime for a quick cool-down.

Aimee's tips for Grilling

Lamb Chops:

  • Season and let come to room temperature before cooking.
  • Grill over high heat 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Do not overcook.
  • Let rest 15 minutes after cooking.
  • ENJOY!

What's the best wine to pair with BBQ?

I've always felt you need a bold wine to dance with savory, peppery flavors coming off the grill, which is why I typically go with a Malbec with steaks and burgers. What Malbec doesn't go well with, however, is 100-degree heat. If you're looking for a lighter pairing that holds up to intense grill flavors, Solaro's award-winning 2020 Sangiovese just happens to be their wine-of-the-month for July and is definitely worth checking out.

It's Megan! Normally you've got your hands full with friends and family, but last week it was Stoke Juice. That's one heck of a bottle return discount!
