More Extreme Weather Heading Our Way

National Weather Service says now is the time to prepare for another deluge of rain and possible flooding, the heaviest of which is expected to begin Friday. Please consider preparing your homes and businesses by picking up free sandbags, gathering emergency resources, preparing for possible power outages, and making sure pets and children are safe.

If you see flooding around creeks, as we saw in January, please report it here or call Valley Water at 408-630-2378.

Another "atmospheric river" is coming. Like the relentless parade of storms that hit us back in January, the coming weather system is expected to dump a lot of water on an already waterlogged Bay Area. What's a little different is the increased danger of flooding, since the record snowfall up north could be melted by slightly warmer rain as we enter the second week of March.

National Weather Service has issued warnings of possible flooding and heavy rainfall Thursday evening and Friday. Please do what you can to prepare your home and keep your family safe. For a list of things you can do to be ready, visit the City of San Jose's Storm Prep Page.

Cheers To Our Sister City!

Yesterday we hosted a delegation from Dublin, Ireland, including Lord Mayor Caroline Conroy, for the raising of the flags of Ireland and Dublin at San Jose City Hall. Dublin and San José have been Sister Cities since 1986, collaborating in many ways, including economic development, environmental stewardship and, most notably, technology. Cheers to our Sister City and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Who's making a big difference in your community? A great teacher, business owner, a police officer who goes beyond the call of duty. Maybe there's someone spending their free time organizing creek clean-ups or blanket drives for the unhoused... If you've got someone special in your neighborhood, let us know by nominating them to be a District Hero!

Local businesses have a new opportunity to reinvigorate their business, save money, and support community-wide energy conservation efforts through a new program from San José Clean Energy, the local clean electricity provider operated by the City of San José.

The San José Energy Efficient Business Program has unlocked several rebates to San José business owners for qualifying HVAC, refrigeration, or water heating projects. These rebates, totaling up to 80–90% off the project cost, will make renovations to your small business more affordable and kickstarting these upgrades so much easier! All business customers with an active San José Clean Energy account are invited to participate.

Want to see if your project qualifies for the rebates above? Learn more or find a participating contractor at SanJoseCleanEnergy.org/Business.

Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm at Berryessa Union School District, 1376 Piedmont Road. For more information email support@campusclini.org or call 855-286-2577.

Booster shots are available for everyone who has had the two initial vaccinations. Reservations can be found at sccfreevax.org.
