This month we have art by local artist Dave Hudon, who will be showcasing his pop culture portraits. His work will be on display all of November. Next time you're at the library, make sure to check it out! Our gallery is to the left of the main doors when walking in.
November 9th @ 6:30 pm

Step back in time to 1857 and spend an evening with the famed 19th-century writer and naturalist Henry David Thoreau!
Mr. Thoreau (portrayed by Historian Richard Smith) will read selections from his essay, “Walking.” Afterward he will take questions (in character) for an entertaining and educational look into Thoreau’s life in 19th-century Concord, Massachusetts.
This program is great for students and adults alike who have an interest in local history and American literature.
Registration is not required.

The Knitting & Crochet Group will be meeting on the second Tuesday of November from 10:30 AM – noon near the circulation desk at Tyngsborough Public Library. Open to all knitting and crocheting levels. Get together with friends and make some new ones!

Join us for a writing workshop! Expand your knowledge on writing; critique each other’s work; and get advice on the craft. New and long-time writers are welcome! This will be an ongoing program. The Writers’ Group will be meeting in the Special Collections room of TPL. Meetings will last from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm.

If you’re interested in crafting and publishing children’s books and stories, join us to participate with a group of likeminded individuals to discuss, critique, and broaden your children’s literature knowledge. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join.

The Tyngsborough Public Library’s book club will be meeting on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm; through September and December.
November's selection: A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
For our third meeting at the end of November, the genre is contemporary fiction! Each month, a novel of a varying genre has been chosen, last month's being horror historical fiction. This can be a great way to step outside of your reading comfort zone!

Pie Basics Cooking Demonstration with Liz Barbour

December 21st @ 6:30 pm via Zoom

A delicious pie is one crust and one filling away. In this class Liz Barbour of The Creative Feast will demonstrate her favorite pie dough recipe and prepare a beautiful and delicious pie you will love to serve for years to come. Liz will also share cooking wisdom and tips that will inspire you to create variations of her recipe. Registration Required.

(grades 3-5) Through the Pokemon TCG, your child will learn strategic skills, participate in friendly competition, and have fun! Whether you have binders full of cards or are just learning to play, please join us! You may also bring video game consoles and mobile devices to share your love of the game. Older grade levels may volunteer to assist. Club Pokemon is sponsored by Newbury Comics.

(grades 3-5) TPL Comic Club reads Olga and the Smelly Thing from Nowhere by Elise Gravel. What is TPL Comic Club? It’s simple: 1. Read the book. 2. Discuss at the meeting. 3. Do a fun activity! All books in the TPL Comic Club are for grades 3 and up. All young readers are welcome.
There is no December meeting. In January, we will read Cardboard Kingdom by Chad Sell.

After you vote, bring your young zoologists to learn about bird beaks with Ms. Heather of Hands on Nature. Come discover the variety of local bird beaks, and how each beak is cleverly designed for a certain type of food! Pretend to be a bird and pick up food with different utensils similar to the many varieties of bird beaks, and see which one is the most challenging!​ Great for all ages.
