Happy November and welcome Fall weather. Holiday season is starting with Turkey day quickly approaching. I wanted to welcome the new board for 2024:

It is an amazing team to welcome in the new year with great speakers as well as great activities planned.


The Half square triangle challenge is going to be the majority of the meeting this month as led by Susan and Leigh Ann. Please turn in your entries on Wednesday afternoon between 1 and 4 pm at St. Mathew’s church please.


I wanted to remind everyone to get their 20 dollar exchange gift ready for the December Christmas party. The main meats will be supplied by the guild and members can bring a side dish or a dessert.

Please consider bringing individually wrapped baked goods that will be available for purchase at the meeting. They can be dropped off on Wednesday or brought on Thursday.

Heritage Quilt Guild Show

Volunteers needed to help provide items for our two booths at the upcoming Heritage Quilters of Huntsville Quilt Show on March 15th and 16th, 2024. Example items include bowl cozies, mug rugs, pin cushions, placemats, layer cakes, patterns and other sewing related items in good condition.

Madison Station Quilt Guild, Secretary’s Report

General Membership Meeting, October 12th, 2023

Location: St Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 786 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758

Attendance: 63 members, 4 visitors

Call-to Order: Meeting was started at 6:31 pm by President David O’Dell

Old Business: 

  • A motion to approve the September meeting minutes was made, seconded and approved.
  • Paint Chip Challenge Updates: Next month is the Challenge event. Entry for non-members will be $5. A refreshment table will be available. Drop-off for challenge entries and individually wrapped cookies/brownies for the refreshment table will be on Wednesday November 8th at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church from 1:00-5:00pm. Viewing for the quilted entries will be from 6:00-6:45pm on Thursday November 9th followed by the evenings program and award ceremony at 6:45pm. There are five award categories including best use of colors, best use of half-square triangles, best quilting, most creative and viewer’s choice.

  • The following nominees for the 2024 board were voted into office: President – Sue Bartlow, Vice President - Denise Edge, Treasurer – Sharon Noel, Secretary – Lian Monikowski and Member at Large – Tom Ramby.
  • Opportunity quilt tickets are available to sale.

Donation gifts:

  • Three (3) members received thank you gifts including gift cards provided by Southern Charm Quilting, Barb’s Sewing Center, and Sweet Home Quilting.
  • Three (3) donation thank you gifts were awarded which included Halloween fabric and goodie baskets.

Show-and-Tell:  Twelve members shared seventeen projects.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm.
