Edison Statue in Milan

Thomas Alva Edison is now permanently situated in front of the Milan Township Hall. It's a close copy of the Washington, DC statue that represents Ohio and has been sculpted by the same artist, Alan Cottrill but there are a few differences. Mr. Edison is standing on top of an Ohio Buckeye! (OH.....IO!) He also has his favorite invention, the phonograph, in his left hand, as well as his invention, the incandescent light bulb, raised in his right. Special thanks go to Milan Township Trustees on placement of the statue. Huge thanks go to Edison Birthplace Trustee, Don Gfell, who had spent years campaigning for the Washington, DC statue and arranged for this latest addition to the Milan Town Square!
