Pegasus FC News: November 2023
|
|
Hi All,
As we come to the end of the fall season, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have contributed to keeping the players active and engaged throughout the season. We have seen significant growth in players as they have developed solid fundamentals and challenged themselves to improve their decision-making skills within game scenarios. It's important to remember that development takes time, and players will grow at different rates within their age group. Please keep in mind that for players the number one goal must always be a love for the game.
When we return in December, coaches will provide evaluations for players so that goals can be set within an individual development plan (IDP). These IDPs are a crucial part of the season when everyone can refocus and plan for the winter. Please take advantage of this opportunity to get to know your coach better and vice versa.
Enjoy your holidays, and I look forward to seeing you all on the field.
Coach Grant Ratcliffe
Director of Coaching

David Nepomuceno
Coach David
Deerfield
First, Pegasus FC congratulates Coach David on earning his USSF D license this past fall. Nepomuceno is in his second year of professional coaching. He has played competitively on local teams for five plus years.
Nepomuceno became passionate about soccer after watching the World Cup on TV as a young boy. He is excited to be working with such a tenured coaching staff at Pegasus FC to learn and grow as a coach.
He loves seeing his players fall in love with the game and makes sure to instill a philosophy of "respect everyone; teammates, competitors, referees, coaches, and spectators" both on and off the pitch.
Again, congratulations and welcome to the club Coach David!

Sal Gloria
Coach Sal
Waukegan
- 30+ years coaching experience
- USSF D License
Coach Sal has almost 40 years of both coaching and playing experience. He played D1 college soccer at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville Florida and continues playing in a competitive Chicagoland men's soccer league.
As a seasoned coach, Gloria has worked for Greater Libertyville Soccer Association (GLSA), Chicago Magic, North Central United, Eclipse Select, and Spartan FC before joining Pegasus FC this year. He had success at several national championships with both boys' and girls' teams.
"We cannot expect excellence on the soccer field when we do not expect excellence in every aspect of our lives. I coach my players to be excellent at soccer and other aspects of our lives like homework, chores, and how we treat one another," he said.
His greatest satisfaction as a coach comes when he sees, "continuous improvement of my players and teams."
Welcome to the club Coach Sal!
