News and Notes - November 2022
Dear Friend

National Adoption Month is an annual campaign to raise awareness about the importance of adoption for vulnerable children in our communities. Over 4,000 Youth in Care are waiting for their forever family across the state of Illinois. Greenlight Family Services will celebrate National Adoption Day in Chicago on November 18th as several Chicago youth find their forever home through legal adoption. We are so grateful for all of the parents, co-parents, and relatives raising relatives who make the world a better place by providing permanency and hope for vulnerable children in Illinois.

Please visit the National Adoption Month website to learn more about how together we can achieve the best outcomes for children and youth in need.
Sincerely,

On Tuesday, November 1, Greenlight CEO Dr. Maria Nanos, COO Ruth McMahon and Program Director Pamela Mills, attended the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) Summit. Together, they learned how to strengthen our youth and family-centered services, leverage resources from the FFPS Act, and improve coordination among Illinois agencies serving children and families. Meeting with Impact Awardee and Illinois Department on Aging Director, Paula Basta was a highlight of their trip.
Greenlight Gala 2022
Greenlight Gala 2022 was a huge success! Together, we raised more than $135,000 in support of Illinois children, young adults and families. These funds help establish permanency and provide additional counseling for those who need it most. We are so thankful for everyone who participated, and cannot wait for next year’s event.
This National Adoption Month, consider making a recurring monthly contribution so our youth and families can count on your support year-round!
