A Veterans Day Celebration was held in the Stearns gymnasium on November 9, with a breakfast provided prior to the ceremony. It was well attended and greatly appreciated by our area veterans. Thank you to Ms. Terry Given for her work to make the program a success.
The Senior Class was in charge of creating a video for the Veterans Day ceremony. They asked students at both Granite and Stearns what Veterans Day means to them. It was a wonderful addition to the ceremony.
The Scholastic Book Fair at Granite Street School was a huge success! Thank you to Mrs. Corinne Reece for your work to make it such a fun event for our students and the community.
Our Mock Trial team had the opportunity to witness a federal court case in Bangor to help benefit them towards their competition on Saturday, November 18th. Good luck!
Our Food Service teams served 5,176 breakfasts, and 6074 lunches in the month of September.
Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Nick Cullen is very pleased to announce that Stearns High School Athletics has received a $200 grant from Penobscot Area Athletics Association. This grant is designed to provide athletic equipment for students in financial need.
Ms. Emma Alley’s and Ms. Tessa DeSilva’s 4th grade classes created a Wax Museum on November 1. They had a great time presenting to students, staff and parents.
A team of teachers have applied to the Maine DOE to form a Concept Team. This will provide professional development to the team and the district will be reimbursed up to $5,000 for subs and after contract hour pay for the team members.
Stearns Jr/Sr High School Esports: Mario Kart team is more than halfway through the season and they are undefeated! Rocket Team is improving with another win. Congratulations!
