Collier Park Renovation Project Update

Completion of the renovation of Collier Park is getting closer. Shrubs have been planted around the park, the parking lot has been striped, and site furnishings are in place. Still to be completed is the installation additional park signage, nature trail scavenger hunt features, grading of the east slope (History Hill) trail, and tree trimming. A "soft" opening is anticipated by the end of 2023 with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration in early 2024.

City Adds Smart Flow Meters to Improve Sewer System

The City works to continuously improve and modernize our infrastructure and service delivery. One such improvement is the addition of four flow meters to sewer systems near the Alvarado Basin. These meters are set up on the underside of manhole covers and use sonar to measure pipe flow. Data is transmitted to an online platform for real-time access by city staff, aiding quick responses to potential overflows, preventing sewer spills. New meters in strategic areas guide future sewer system improvements for optimized service to residents and businesses.
