Hire a summer P2 intern
Does your business want to explore pollution prevention opportunities but lacks time or human capital? A P2 Intern can give your facility an environmental jumpstart.

The Pollution Prevention Institute recruits engineering and environmental science students and places them with Kansas businesses, where they work on dedicated pollution prevention projects that reduce environmental impacts and costs.

The recycling efforts of communities and business throughout the United States have helped with this success and growth. The EPA encourages every American to contribute by recycling right, not only on every annual America Recycles Day, but all year long.
Hazardous waste training on demand

Are you or your employees in need of hazardous waste training this year? Failure to properly train employees who have responsibility for dealing with hazardous waste at your facility can be costly -- in fines, potential employee exposures, inappropriate disposals that put trash haulers at risk and even spills.

The Pollution Prevention Institute hosts a KDHE-approved online training that offers an immersive reader option and provides a "Certificate of Completion." Cost of the training is $50 per participant. Questions? Email Nancy Larson for more information.

Reduce food waste during the holidays
The holidays are fast approaching, and with them comes increased waste. Food, gift wrapping, packaging and other waste increases about 25% between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day and can be reduced with some mindful practices. PPI has food waste reduction tips on our food recovery webpage.
