Thanks to a grant from the City of Sacramento's Office of Arts & Culture, Strum For Fun is back in an online format. These free "Struminars" were originally held at libraries for youth ages 8 to 18, but in the online format, adults are welcomed too!
Participants will use their own guitars at a group Zoom session, hosted by one of our fabulous teachers, and learn to play their favorite songs. These sessions are offered from October 2020 thru May 2021 on a virtual basis, so please help us spread the word by sharing this information with your friends and neighbors. Register on the website and get ready to strum along!

This month's featured solo comes from Sean O'Connor! Click the video above to see Sean perform his original composition Leaving the Nest.
A native of Sacramento, Sean O'Connor works tirelessly at his dream job, performing and teaching classical and electric guitar. In more recent years, he has been performing, arranging, and composing on the 11-string alto guitar, making his job at least 80% more interesting. He also deeply enjoys his work as the Director of SGS's Sacramento Community Guitar Orchestras, and looks forward to when they can meet in person again.
Sean studied with Richard Savino at CSUS and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the program in the early 2000s. On the side, he enjoys tabletop RPGs, video games, and the company of friends and family.
