ADVENT CANDLE PLACEMAT
As a simple resource to help keep our hearts and minds on the “reason for the season,” we’re offering Advent Wreath placemats for you to use each Sunday, especially for those who don’t already have a wreath at home. Feel free to supplement by placing real votive or other candles on the mat. They will be available for pickup this weekend at the Thanksgiving Food Drive and in a box by the front gate throughout next week. Let’s all be on the same page this Advent (pardon the pun)!
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
Our Children's Ministry will again host our Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the United Food Bank. This will be a drive by, drop off event. We will have masked, distanced volunteers on hand to collect your items including non-perishable food items, frozen turkeys and even cash donations for the purchase of produce. Food items can be dropped off on November 21 and 22 between 8am-12pm. This year, the holiday season will surely find larger numbers of families in need than in years past. Please help us do our small part to support these families
BORDERLANDS PRODUCE RESCUE
Borderlands hosts a monthly produce distribution event at Aldersgate UMC where families can purchase 70lbs of rescued produce for $12. In this time of increased unemployment and food insecurity, this ministry is critical for the neighborhood. If you are healthy and looking for a chance to serve, please consider joining us there on Saturday, November 21 at 6:30am to help sort produce, pack boxes and load cars! Be sure to bring a mask and gloves if you have them. Please email Amy to sign up or for more information.
STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY
As part of Thanksgiving Sunday, today we come together as a congregation to make our gratitude tangible with financial commitments to ensure that we can carry on the work of Christ's church in the world into the next year. Through the gift of our tithes and offerings, we are able to spread the message of God's inclusive love for all people and to continue our mission to make God’s world more peaceful, just, compassionate and inclusive.

If you have not done so already, you can make a pledge in the following ways:
  • Mail a Commitment Card to Dayspring UMC. (CLICK HERE for the card and HERE for an authorization form)
  • Send an email to nan@dayspring-umc.org with your commitment information.
  • Make a recurring donation from your bank account, credit card or debit card via our online giving site at www.dayspringumc.org/give. Click on Stewardship Pledge for 2021.

For all the people whose lives will be transformed by your support, we thank you!
LOW: ADVENT STUDY
Our Advent Study will be on the book LOW, An Honest Advent Devotional, by John Pavlovitz. Pavlovitz writes, “Let’s be honest about Advent: we often feel pressured to have it all together and to hide our struggles, to pretend we’re merry when we’re frustrated and stressed and exhausted.” Can you relate?

The Study will be held via Zoom starting November 28 and will be held several times throughout the week. Email the church office to register!

Sundays at 7:30am - Joel Bullock
Tuesdays at 11:00am and 5:30pm - Jeff Procter-Murphy
Wednesdays at 10:30am - Shirley Wells
Thursdays at 12 noon - Amy Notbohm
Thursdays at 7:00pm during Time to Wonder
UMOM STOCKING DRIVE
Since we are unable to sponsor an Angel Tree for UMOM this year, we are holding a different type of Christmas drive. To participate in the UMOM Holiday Stocking drive, you can select a family HERE. This is where you will find all the information and guidance in adopting a family to provide small gifts and treats in festive holiday stockings for the kids. You may also donate a gift card to a family by December 11. Learn more.
CAROL SING
The Holiday season is a special time for all, with traditions, giving, and gathering. Since we are still unable to gather, we’re trying to be creative in helping to bring the comfort of the holiday season to you. We are hosting an "In-Car Carol Sing" in the church parking lot at 6pm on Saturday, December 19. Our Dayspring singers will lead us in song (audio will be transmitted to FM radio and social media) and you'll be encouraged to sing along. Wear your favorite holiday sweaters, matching family Christmas PJ’s, or decorate your car and enter to win the prize for the most festive!
