OUR MISSION:

St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.

We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.

From the Desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear St. Rita Parents/Guardians,

I’d like to share with you a concern that has surfaced over the past few weeks in our bathrooms - vandalism. It has become apparent that some of our students feel that they can write or draw on the stall walls. This has occurred in the bathrooms on both floors of the school. We have put procedures in place to hold our students accountable, such as sign-out sheets for the older students, teacher monitors for the younger students, and an hourly custodial check of the bathrooms. Today I spent my afternoon stationed outside the boys’ bathroom on the second floor monitoring who went in and out and checking the bathroom after each use. Moving forward, additional procedures will be put in place to monitor the bathrooms and the culprits(s) will be held accountable. Please speak with your child about his/her responsibility to keep our school free from vandalism.

I am happy to report that this past Thursday, St. Rita School completed the purchase of the neglected and vacant property located on the pre-kindergarten side of our building. Due to careful stewardship with our resources, the school has been able to purchase the property and is currently securing bids to demolish the dilapidated and condemned house located on the property. At this time, the space will be used as green space. Once we secure a date for demolition you will be notified.

This Saturday, November 4, from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 (noon), St. Rita School will be hosting Shred Day. For a donation of $10 a box/bag you may have all your personal and/or confidential paperwork professionally shredded. There is no limit to the number of boxes you can bring, however each box/bag is $10. Legal sized boxes are $15. This event will be held in the school parking lot regardless of the weather. Cash or checks made payable to St. Rita School will be accepted at the time of service.

On Monday our largest fundraiser of the year begins - The Apex Fun Run. All students participate and all families are asked to share the details of the fundraiser with their family members, neighbors, co-workers, and friends via the QR code supplied to your child. Last year was the first time we worked with Apex and our students had a blast and learned many important leadership skills and positive character traits. This year’s theme is POWER - Apex will charge our power and master five habits - proactive, optimistic, work it out, effort, and reality check - that will unleash your child’s power of leadership. This fundraiser runs from November 6-16. The culminating event is the 36 lap fun run. Please read the emails and messages that will be sent home to you by your child’s teacher and the HSA for additional details. Thank you in advance for your support.

Next Thursday, November 9, is an early dismissal day for our students. Aftercare will not be available. From 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on November 9, St. Rita School will be hosting an open house for prospective students and their families. Since our current families are the best ambassadors for our school, please invite your friends, neighbors, and family members to take advantage of this opportunity to tour St. Rita School. Individualized tours by our Crusader Club members and the opportunity to speak directly with our dedicated and supportive faculty will allow our visitors to hear about our strong academic programs and extracurricular offerings.

It was great seeing you all at our 13th Annual Trunk or Treat last Friday evening. Special thanks to MaryLee and Joe Delaney and family for another successful event. This is the last year the Delaney Family will be running this event as their daughter, Sephie, will be graduating in June. We are so grateful that they have established this tradition at St. Rita and are optimistic that another family will take over hosting this event in October 2024. If you are interested, please contact me directly. Thank you to all our school families for your overwhelming support by providing the candy, the decorated trunks, and the safe space for our children to have fun! We are extremely grateful for all your support. Have a blessed week!

God Bless,
