Nourish Pierce County

December 2023 Newsletter

Hi Ken,

Nourish Food Banks have had an amazing 50 years! From our beginning as FISH, we have come a long way, never losing sight of the incredible community we continue to serve.

This year, we have served 6% of the total population of Pierce County, ensuring over 57,000 individuals have access to nutritious food.

"Kids should not have to worry that they're going to be hungry, that's why I'm happy I have Nourish Food Banks, so that my kids won't have to go through what I went through." Growing up, Ana's family didn't always have everything they needed, including food. Upon moving to Pierce County, she found herself in a similar situation and turned to Nourish to make ends meet. "Nourishment can be substance, or it can be spiritual, I feel like Nourish Food Bank is the place where the two combine."

As food costs continue to rise and the need for food banks increases, we are so glad we can serve those in need in our community. No one should go hungry, especially this time of year.

We are thankful for the incredible support we have received from the Puyallup Tribe and are so excited to learn more about the many organizations they support as we continue to partner with them in the new year!
