Notice on Behalf of Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration

Upcoming MDOT Field Work in Virginia

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is advancing the development of a new American Legion Bridge and expanding multimodal transportation options along the I-495 and I-270 corridor. As part of this initiative, MDOT SHA will continue field work to gather data in Virginia. The upcoming field investigations include:

  • August 5 through August 7: Project staff will continue to conduct field surveys to confirm the locations and elevations of topographic features to inform concept designs. All investigations will be within the existing VDOT right-of-way along Live Oak Drive and I-495.

Project staff will access the site from Live Oak Drive and will be dropped off and picked up to minimize community disruption. During these times, you may observe staff along Live Oak Drive, within the nearby VDOT right-of-way, on the Potomac Heritage Trail, or near the Potomac River.

For any questions or concerns, please contact the American Legion Bridge and 270 Corridor project team at 410-637-3300 or 833-858-5960, or email ALB270@mdot.Maryland.gov.
