Red, White and Blue Maryland

MARYLAND IS MORE DIVERSE THAN ANYONE THINKS
I made a map of how we actually vote, precinct by precinct. It's Red if the top of the ticket went Republican in '14 and '16; Blue if the precinct went Democrat both times - but White if it changed from one election to the next.
We can argue if Maryland is the most gerrymandered state in the Union but there is no doubt our districts are manipulated. The real question is, what is fair representation for our citizens?
Gerrymandering is Discrimination
OUR NATION WAS FOUNDED ON A STRUGGLE FOR REPRESENTATION
The right time to do the right thing is now. Continuing a broken process that lets politicians pick their voters results in minority voters being sliced and diced to keep incumbents in office. Our congressional districts don't represent ethnic groups, regional interests or socio-economic strata. Maryland's congressional districts are designed with great care to strip the voices of minority voters in Baltimore, Montgomery and Prince George's just as much as they pack the minority party. Voters from across the State have the same interest - fair districts.

Frederick Douglass said,
"A man's rights rest in three boxes. The ballot box, jury box and the cartridge box."

Our rights hinge on the ballot box. We can join arms across this State and find common cause with many people if we are bold. Don't let our Liberty slip away - don't succumb to partisan politics - demand fair districts. Support Gov. Hogan's SB252 on March 2, come to the hearing and make yourself be heard!
