SHAWMUT, HOBBS BROOK REAL ESTATE, AND PAYETTE BREAK GROUND ON FM GLOBAL’S NORWOOD CAMPUS EXPANSION WITH WORLD-CLASS R&D CENTER


"Shawmut, Hobbs Brook Real Estate, and Payette officially broke ground on a new world-class research, science, and technology facility for commercial property insurer FM Global, a leader in loss prevention and business continuity. Located at the company’s Norwood, Massachusetts, campus at 1165 Providence Highway, the state-of-the-art building will offer a combination of research laboratories and corporate offices, along with an all-new parking garage and outdoor spaces."

Norwood's Small Business Energy Initiative


The Norwood Small Business Energy Initiative is launching this May. Energy Source, the contracted small business vendor with National Grid, supports energy efficiency efforts by scheduling and conducting no-cost, no-obligation, small business energy assessments. The Energy Source team will canvas South Norwood businesses in May; however, all Norwood businesses may participate. During Norwood's last initiative, a total of 19 Norwood businesses took advantage of energy efficiency incentives and together saved approximately 100,000 kWh of electricity per year. To schedule your assessment in advance, you may call 1-888-490-7555. Norwood is participating in the Mass Save® Community First Partnership, offered locally by National Grid, to increase participation in energy efficiency programs.

Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program


The Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) is accepting applications for its fifth round of the Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program (MMAP). "The MMAP program aims to help Massachusetts-based small to medium-sized manufacturers prepare their businesses to meet the demands of Industry 4.0 and the manufacturing of new technologies and innovations that align with key industries in the state. Grant funding can be used for capital expenditures under GAAP." The deadline to apply is tomorrow, April 4, 2024.

The MLSC Launches Next Round of MassNextGen


"The program will fund up to $100,000 per awardee and expand entrepreneurs’ network by providing year-round coaching sessions with serial entrepreneurs and subject matter experts. TheMassNextGen program will also feature a “pitch” event for awardees to highlight their company to sponsors, awardees, and representatives of angel groups and venture capital firms."


The application period runs from March 18 – June 14, 2024 at 4 p.m. EST

Export Week May 6-10, 2024
