Sunday March 3rd
In this Sunday’s story, Peter proclaims who Jesus is. He speaks with conviction and claims his faith. If you had to speak your faith in one sentence or phrase, what would you say? When we have the courage to say, “This I believe…” then that conviction has a ripple effect on others. When life gets rocky, we lean on mountain top moments and our deepest convictions to see us through. Join us in a caring community of seekers as our Lenten journey continues with wandering hearts.

Treasurer Needed
The Executive Committee still needs to fill the position of Treasurer.
The need has become more urgent as Karen Page is stepping down as Treasurer after the Annual Meeting on March 3rd, 2024.
The role of Treasurer has been modified to reduce the time commitment. The main responsibilities will be attending monthly executive meetings, signing cheques, cash flow management and bank related activities.
This is an excellent opportunity to serve as part of the executive. Please contact Jan for more information.

Sunday March 10th
We invite you to celebrate P.I.E. Day, where we proudly declare our support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Join us for pie, laughter, and a spectrum of colourful festivities. Please wear your AMT t-shirt if you wish! We are excited to welcome guest speaker, Jayden Escalante-Jones who will share in worship with us that morning. Jayden (they/them or he/him) found a church home in The United Church of Canada after a long period of spiritual searching. They are a Candidate for Ordained Ministry and one of the students Rev. Heather has had the great honour of walking with on their ministry path. They are in the process of completing a Master of Divinity and Master of Pastoral Studies in Emmanuel College’s conjoint program.
Jayden is a husband, a storyteller and poet with a love for imaginative stories. Though raised Roman Catholic, Jayden learned of other Christian denominations including Pentecostal, Moravian and Anglican, through their family of origin. His experiences with Black expressions of Christianity led Jayden to learn there were many ways of encountering and understanding God from our own perspectives. As such Jayden always locates their experiences with God in the intersections of his multi-faceted identity which includes being Black, Trans and Queer.
Jayden enjoys meeting God in nature, in stillness, in spaces where people are encouraged to bring their entire selves and in the simple blessings of everyday life with their small family.

The Coldest Night of the Year Walk was a great success. It was special to have Hillcrest, Norval, St. Andrew’s and St. John’s United Churches walking as one this year. Our "Angels United” team had 32 walkers and raised $8220 - the largest on both counts. Thanks to Joanne Wardle at St. Andrew’s for establishing our team. Thank you as well to all those who supported our team. The Georgetown Bread Basket and Links2Care address important needs in our community and it felt good to be supporting them. It was also a great opportunity to meet a wide cross-section of committed individuals and groups from Halton Hills. Together the community raised over $59,000, which is 119% of its goal.

Citizen of the Year
We're excited to share that Paul Ivany, the former minister of Norval United Church, has been named Georgetown's Citizen of the Year. This recognition speaks to Paul's deep commitment to our community. Through his leadership and involvement in local projects, Paul has made a meaningful difference in Georgetown, touching the lives of many. His dedication to service and compassion sets a powerful example for us all. Let's congratulate Paul on this well-deserved honor and continue working together to build a stronger, more connected community. See the full article from Halton Hills Today below.
