Student Council News

The Northwood School Student Council is proud to announce the following elected officials!

We are looking forward to getting started brainstorming next week on ideas and plans that the group would like to tackle. Any students in 7th or 8th grade are welcome to join the weekly meetings on Thursdays in room 207 during lunchtime.

Parent Teacher Group

Did you know that Northwood School has a Parent Teacher Group? Well we do! Please join us at one of our meetings, the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6-7. Next month, Nov. 14, we will be planning a Family Night Out event. If you have any questions or ideas you can reach out to us at northwoodptg@gmail.com.

Kindergarten News

Kindergartners have been working hard in their WIN groups. Each group focuses on skills and lessons customized to the students' learning needs. Playing letter and rhyming games is a fun way to finish each lesson. This week's little book “I Can Give!” was the reading focus. They have been sent home for practice reading with our families. They are very excited to share it with you.

5K at Deerfield Fairgrounds on November 5

Fall Fun for Families

Catamount Womenaid will welcome runners, walkers, families, and spectators to the Deerfield Veterinary Clinic Catamount 5K on Sunday, November 5 at the Deerfield Fairgrounds. The course for the 9:00 am race is on varied, off-road surfaces in a scenic, rural setting. Children under 8 years old may join in the free Kids’ Run at 9:45.

Registration is open now at catamountwomenaid.org. The first 100 registrants will receive free hats and swag bags with goodies from area businesses. Preregistration race fees are $27 for teens and adults; $15 for kids 12 or under. Fees increase on race day. Snacks and water are free.

This 5K benefits Catamount Womenaid, a local nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to individuals and families with urgent needs in Barnstead, Deerfield, Epsom, Northwood, Pittsfield and Strafford. See catamountwomenaid.org. On Facebook: @catamountwomenaid and @catamount5k.
