Phishing Scams

With the ongoing fear of bank failures lately, we have seen a huge jump in financial phishing scams over the last couple of weeks. Take a look at the email above. Some of the warning indicators are identified with red arrows.

  • Check for spelling errors. Your bank would proofread anything going out to a customer.
  • Check who the email is supposed to be going to as well as what address it is coming from (bank email comings from a personal email address would be a red flag.)
  • Also, always, always, check the website address of any links. At the top of the webpage browser, you will see the address of the site. The web address should contain the bank website address with perhaps some other words at the end with “/” in between or even better some words in front of the bank address with “.” . A couple of examples might be “https://mainstreetbank.com/accounts/customerservice” or maybe “https://accounts.mainstreetbank.com. This tells you that the address belongs to your banks’ official domain. A link for your bank account going to http://joebobwebpage.com might be a huge problem.

It's worth checking out. Don’t let these people get access to your accounts. Be vigilant and protect your private information.

News from Kindergarten

The kindergarteners have begun learning that fairy tales were written to help teach children lessons. There was much debate about The Little Red Hen. Should she share the bread if no one helped? The opinions were about 75/25, most deciding that it’s fair to share if help was received.

603 Bright Futures Survey

The New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from you. The 603 Bright Futures Survey is an opportunity for you to have your voice heard. These surveys will gather actionable feedback around learning models, school climate, family and community engagement, and other topics in order to understand the successes and challenges of the recent school year and plan for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. We have partnered with Panorama Education to support us with the 603 Bright Futures Survey. If you have any questions about the survey program, please reach out to Panorama at support+nhed@panoramaed.com.

Survey questions were developed with input from a cohort of school leaders and should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. The survey window runs from March 13 to April 28.
