Northwood School Laker

From the Assistant Principal's Office

There are many wonderful things about being an educator, imparting knowledge to your students, seeing the “light bulb” go on when a student grasps a concept or having a student mimic your passion for a particular topic. But perhaps the best part of the day is hearing some of the comments students make, or the answers they come up with. Here are a few of my favorites…

“Oh I can’t wear my new glasses in your class because it’s math. The doctor said they are just for reading.”

“Divide a fraction by a fraction? Is that even legal?"

“I want to be a teacher when I grow up but my name is not Mrs.”

A teacher wrote this on the whiteboard during discussion: William Shakespeare (1564-1616), a student asked, “Is that Shakespeare’s real phone number?”

Right before the holiday break a student said “my mom got this present and she didn’t want it and she called everyone in our family and they didn’t want it either so she said to just bring it to school and give it to you!”

Briefly explain what hard water is.  Ice

What is the difference between 160 and 142 and explain how you found the answer. 18 and I used math.

Where was the Declaration of Independence signed? At the bottom

Suggest one cause of deforestation. This paper

Write a 7 digit number that has a 6 in the 10,000s place. 6666666

Have a wonderful weekend!

News from the Music Room

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Alice Dinsmore, Kamrin Routhier, and Anna Odom participated in the New Hampshire Music Educators Association Southeast Honor Band Festival at Cooperative Middle School. The students rehearsed in a band of approximately 70 students from the southeast region of the state and performed a concert that afternoon with guest conductor Mr. Kyle Smith. Congratulations to all on a fantastic performance and for representing Northwood School!

pom-pom ice cream cones.

They all did a great job!
