September 29, 2023

Northwood School artwork on display at the Deerfield Fair!

Thank you to Ms. Keeley and Ms. Hashem for setting up this amazing display. And congratulations to all of the talented artists who are displaying their work!

News from the Library

This week, the library welcomed back our beloved aide, Lynn Warner. Lynn helps out with clerical work in the library, and also reads aloud to the Kindergarten and first grade classes.

Also in the library this week, the 4 year old preschoolers came in to meet the librarians, listen to a story, and look at picture books.

The 7th graders did a fantastic job writing their Choose Your Own Adventure stories, and then presenting them in Google Slides.

Lastly, the Barbie box is still up for now. Students and staff have been having a lot of fun with it, and showing their Barbie fandom. Enjoy it while it's here!

Kindergarten News

Kinder-monsters enjoying “Go Away Big Green Monster”. A fun craft activity to tie in with story time. We are learning to sit at the carpet as we listen to the story and ask thoughtful questions. No real monsters were in the classroom…but it certainly sounded like there were.

School & Community Information

Northwood families, did you know that our town is part of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program? If you have a child ages birth to 5 and are a Northwood resident, you can sign them up. Each month an age appropriate book will mailed to your home to keep and enjoy. Your child’s personal library is generously sponsored by local businesses and individuals that understand the importance of early literacy. Without them none of this would be possible. If interested in being a sponsor please let us know.

We hope you and your child will enjoy story time resulting in a love of reading that will benefit them for years to come.  Follow this link to sign them up.
