Parish Professionals Meeting
It is good when church workers gather for worship, sharing, and fellowship. The September gathering will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 Rush St #1, Roselle, IL 60172. We will gather at 11:00 a.m. and wrap up by about 1:30 p.m. The focus for this gathering will be to share joys and memories from summer events.
We will begin with worship, share, and offer pizza for lunch if you wish to stay. In order to make sure we have enough pizza, please RSVP to lois.stewart@nidlcms.org by September 10, 2024. Many thanks to Kevin Borchers for hosting our first event of the year.

South Region Pastoral Conference
The South Region Pastoral Conference will be held September 23-25, 2024 at Starved Rock Conference Center in Oglesby, IL.
Lodging deadline was August 23, 2024. Conference registration deadline is September 9, 2024.

The Katie Event
This year, The Katie (for pastors’ wives and widows) will again be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 202 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60194-3517.
Registration and refreshments begin at 8:30 a.m., with scheduled activities and our speaker beginning at 9:00 a.m. Lunch is included.
The registration fee is $25. (We want every Katie who wants to attend to be able to do so. If the $25 fee would be a financial burden to you, there are scholarship resources available. Information to request scholarship funds or to donate toward those funds can be found at the registration link below.)
Our speaker, Dr. Beverly Yahnke will lead us in the topic "Drawing Unto Peace" with Philippians 4:7 as the theme verse: "And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

61st Convention of the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
The 61st Convention will be held Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8, 2025 at Concordia University Chicago. Delegate, nomination, recommendation, and overture forms and information are now available.
Called Commissioned workers, those on Candidate status, and those called to RSOs: You are also required to register to attend as an advisory non-voting delegate. Have your home congregation pastor sign off on the delegate form.

Careers for Christ Fall 2024
High school students interested in learning about LCMS professional church work careers are encouraged to register for CUC’s Careers for Christ Weekend, which will begin with check-in at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024 and the event concludes in the afternoon on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Best of all, YOU CAN ATTEND FOR FREE! This year’s event includes all activities, materials, housing and meals, plus a Careers for Christ T-shirt. Note: Saturday-Sunday activities are student-only. Parents are encouraged to join the Monday activities to meet staff, faculty, and ask questions.

DOXOLOGY Hymn Festival
As part of an Encore retreat weekend for DOXOLOGY-enrolled pastors and lay leaders November 15-17, 2024 at the Lindenwood Retreat Center in Donaldson, Indiana, DOXOLOGY is hosting a Hymn Festival after the close of the retreat in the beautiful Neo-Gothic sanctuary of the retreat chapel. Dr. Paul Grime of the Fort Wayne seminary will be the organist and Harold Senkbeil will serve as Hymn Commentator.
The Hymn Festival will be held November 17, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. Pastors who are graduates of the DOXOLOGY classic program are always encouraged to enroll additional laity in successive Encore weekends. Pastors, please consider enrolling lay leaders for this retreat and then staying for the Hymn Festival.

Join the NID Bus
The NID LWML is looking into hiring a motorcoach to take participants to the LWML Convention in Omaha, Nebraska, June 26-29, 2025. These are the tentative details: There need to be 40 people interested to make this possible. Please email Kris Blackwell, archivisthistorian@lwmlnid.org, to put your name on the list. Once it is determined that a bus is a "go," a deposit will be required. More details will follow.

Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries' Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries' maternity home in East Dundee, IL is seeking a mature Christian woman to offer free housing and utilities in return for overnight emergency coverage in the maternity home. We would ask the woman to be in the home from 10:00pm-6:00 a.m. seven nights per week to ensure residents (max capacity for our home is 4 residents) are all home prior to curfew, to lock and arm the home, and assist residents in any rare, but occasional, overnight emergency. She would also cook dinner for residents one night per week. RLOM can also offer part-time employment (24 hours per week) at $15 per hour if desired. You will have a furnished primary suite with a private bathroom and access to laundry. The arrangement would include all utilities, trash & Wi-Fi.
