2025 LCMS Youth Gathering

Many congregations and youth groups are starting to plan for the 2025 National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Your NID coordinators, David Meier (Immanuel, East Dundee) and Alex Brice (St. Marks, St. Charles), are ready to assist with questions you might have as you begin planning. The attachment from the LCMS Youth Ministry Office will also help as you start the preparation.

Watch for more detail as it becomes available. There will be an in-person NYG training for NID leaders in the future. Watch for that date.

Church Worker Care Team: Continuing to Care for our Called Church Workers

The Church Worker Care Team emerged several years ago from the efforts of our Wellness Committee, reflecting one of our core mission and vision values:

WELLNESS: Promoting and encouraging health and vitality in congregations, schools, ministries, professional workers, and lay-leaders.

Today, the Care Team continues this mission by providing support for our Called Church Workers. The team offers a listening ear, encouragement, support, coaching, and prayer.

If you are a Called Church Worker, please visit our webpage to learn more about our Care Team and how to connect with them.

Grace Place Sabbatical Guide

Sabbatical Scholarships

LCEF recognizes the toll ministry can have on a church worker, and they care. This is why LCEF is providing four ministry sabbatical scholarships of $5,000 to help church workers taking their first ministry sabbatical.

Applicants will have until October 31, 2024 to work with their team to come up with a preliminary plan and other documents outlined in the application. Four applications will be selected by LCEF and the funds will be sent to the church worker’s ministry. A ministry sabbatical could be a key to ministry longevity for weary church workers. LCEF’s Grace Place Wellness is not only encouraging ministries to consider a ministry sabbatical, but has started a scholarship fund to assist church workers with planning a sabbatical.

Set Apart to Serve

Parents/grandparents, pastors, professional church workers, Sunday school teachers, and others in your congregation help influence children to consider serving the church in these sacred and joyful vocations. Set Apart to Serve (SAS) is an initiative of the LCMS to recruit church workers. Since church work is rooted in Baptism and a lifetime of hearing the Word, SAS encourages young people to consider church work vocations primarily through their continued and faithful involvement with their congregation.

Please use the attached bulletin insert in your church.
