A Promise Kept - Good Shepherd Christmas Cantata

The Music Ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church looks forward to sharing a new cantata by Marty Parks. "A Promise Kept - the Blessing of Christmas" will be presented to God's glory on Saturday, December 17, 2022, 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 18, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 195 Nesler Road, Elgin, IL 60124. Christmas carols, new original songs, and narration reminds us of how God keeps His promises, and the birth of Jesus being fulfilled in a manger in Bethlehem, surrounded by angels is and was a promise kept.

German Christmas Service

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect will be hosting a German language Christmas Service on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. The church is located at 100 S. School Street

on the corner of Busse Avenue and School Street. This is the congregation’s tenth annual German Christmas Service, and it draws worshipers from across the Chicago Northwest Suburbs.

Grants awarded during Phase 2 of the Million Dollar Life Match

Synod has awarded 48 grants for Phase 2 of the 1 John 3 Initiative Million Dollar Life Match including ministries in the Northern Illinois District. The program, which offers a total of $1 million in matching grants, seeks to support LCMS congregations involved in providing beginning-of-life care in their local communities.

The LCMS Northern Illinois District is congregations, schools, and ministries of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, spanning the 24 counties in Illinois.
