Bill Introduced to Amend the Small Business Act, PPP | Extends 501c6 Eligibility | Senator Ted Cruz announced that he joined Senator Tim Scott and Small Business Committee Chairman, Marco Rubio to amend the Small Business Act expanding the Paycheck Protection Program for organizations, such as 501(c)6 non-profits and DMOs. Health & Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act | The U.S. House passed the HEROES Act bill, which responds to the COVID-19 its impact on the economy, public health, state and local governments, individuals, and businesses. Governor Abbott Announced Phase III, Re-Opens Texas
June 22 | On June 3, Governor Abbott announced the third phase of the Texas plan to continue safely open the economy while containing the spread of COVID-19. Effective immediately, all businesses in Texas may operate at up to 50% capacity, with limited exceptions.

Today, the Governor discussed several steps the state is taking to mitigate the spread of the virus in recent weeks—including increasing enforcement of health and safety regulations, rapidly increasing testing in hot spots, and working with hospitals throughout the state to ensure they have the ability to treat Texans who test positive for COVID-19. Local Updates | Bexar County & City of SA Issue New Orders
NEW: Executive Order NW-10 issued by Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff | Executive Order NW-10 , effective June 3 through June 30, 2020.

The order mandates all commercial entities in Bexar County providing goods or services directly to the public must develop and implement a health and safety policy (“Health and Safety Policy”). The Policy must require, at a minimum, that all employees or visitors to the business' premises or other facilities wear face coverings when in an area or performing an activity which will involve close contact or proximity to co-workers or the public where six feet of separation is not feasible.

Businesses have until today, June 22 nd  to require masks for customers and workers or they risk a $1,000 fine. Read More

Mayor Nirenberg amends emergency health declaration adding mask requirement for businesses, aligning to Judge Wolff's order

June 18 | Effective immediately, all commercial businesses providing goods or services directly to the public in Bexar County must create a Health and Safety Policy that requires employees and customers wear face coverings if they cannot maintain physical distancing. Read More
